Data, language and recommender systems: Beyond the classic recommendation techniques

How can data and language support and extend collaborative-based recommender systems? The talk includes a short introduction to recommender systems, with a focus on music recommendation. Then showcases works for exploiting metadata, location and textual data in recommendation, to improve diversity, serendipity and solve cold-start scenarios.
